Company Profile
United Way for Greater Austin (UWATX) is a local nonprofit providing resources to low-income individuals and families since 1924.

Operating under UWATX, Success By 6 is a coalition of early childhood education and intervention initiatives. The implementation of these efforts prepare young children between the ages of 0-6 for school readiness. Some of our key initiatives include: the School Readiness Action Plan, Play To Learn, Quality Centers Project, and Economic and Social Opportunity. Not only do we advocate for early childhood initiatives, but we also fund early childhood programs and parent education services. The progression of these initiatives are possible via the help of education organizations and community stakeholders.

Aside from focusing on early childhood intervention, we also provide opportunities for parents to receive the skills they need to better prepare their children for success. This is facilitated through our on-going partnership with Project HOPES, a collaboration of four local community organizations: Any Baby Can, Easter Seals, SafePlace, and Strong Start. Project HOPES is a child maltreatment prevention program whose mission is to support families that may be undergoing stressful life circumstances. UWATX and Project HOPES work concurrently in promoting these programs and resources to the vulnerable populations in the Austin community.
