At SXSW 2016, NHK Enterprises (NEP) and NHK Media Technology (MT) brought the world’s first 8K:VR Theater, which utilized 8K+3D+22.2ch.
Following last year’s groundbreaking project, NEP and MT continued to explore this new concept of 8K:VR and, together with their new partners RecoChoku Labo and Wonder Vision Techno Laboratory, have newly produced 8K:VR Ride, which will be unveiled for the first time at SXSW 2017. This is the world’s first 8K motion ride, and just like 8K:VR Theater, the ride does not require a head mounted display to have a VR experience.
8K:VR Ride will bring you a one-of-a-kind Tokyo virtual experience over “Tokyo Victory,” a hit song by one of Japan’s most iconic bands, Southern All Stars.
